The silent surrender
It is the struggle to escape our fears that adds to the misery of life. The mind, ego and imagination run from anything that calls into question our ability to exist and survive. This is why fear of death is such a strong motivator. The old look back on life with a nostalgia for those days when it seemed life would last forever, but time, their bodies and health all reveal that something's got to give. They realize that they are not in control and that surrender is as necessary as control once was. To make peace with life, to lay down the walls of resistance and fear and to simply be. To become aware of what matters and to accept the fact that any day may be your last. Truth, beauty, wisdom and real knowledge cannot be fought for, they cannot be bought or possessed. They reveals themselves naturally in a silent surrender to our vulnerability as human beings.
