Guilt is expensive
Religious organizations would not have any wealth without the ideas of hell and judgment. People tend to appreciate the truth and healing but are shy at paying for it. They feel that something that simple must not be worth paying for, so their value of it is less than the religious church goer. Fear of hell, fire and damnation are needed to appeal to the ego of a religious person and because of guilt, that is applied cunningly by an organization they feel that maybe money will buy them some special pardon from their sins. Peace of mind costs very little when truth is realized, but guilt costs over and over in a lifetime if you buy into it.
