The perils of projection

Gifted speakers, teachers and leaders benefit greatly from projection. Projection is the transference of self-responsibility for anything onto another, thus making it seem that they are in some way greater or more gifted then we as individuals. They seem to know the answers and can lead us or should lead us. How sad it is to give away your power and become a pawn willingly to others, believing that they can give you what you cannot give yourself.

In essence, if they are wrong you suffer also because you tried to borrow your truth from another and not discover it within. It is an all too common experience in life and in many areas of life, not just spiritual, but the results are the same. Great disillusionment, despair, confusion and pain follow projection and a deepening lack of self-confidence within us. Along with this add a fear of trusting life and ourselves.
