"We all have an inner voice, our personal whisper from the universe.
All we have to do is listen -- feel and sense it with an open heart.
Sometimes it whispers of intuition or precognition. Other times,
it whispers an awareness, a remembrance from another plane.
Dare to listen. Dare to hear with your heart."

Lance Sheridan: God's Regress

Lance Sheridan is a remarkable man, a good friend, and a loving soul to all he meets. He is also a published author, writer, and poet. He pens in many different genres of poetry, but his greatest passion is writing dark poems, poems that often take the reader on a wild roller coaster ride down a darkened alleyway -- and just when they think they have it all figured out, they have succumbed to an unexpected conclusion.

When I asked him to please honor me with a contribution to my blog, he graced me with the following poem:

God's Regress
by Lance Sheridan

The omniscient creator
Universe ruler - keeper
of the faith; controls all
reality and nature - we
worship and follow him.

Is there for our necessary
and eternal existence; no
argument, he does exist
Cannot be blamed for evil
Gave us all a brain to use.

He is ever present; answers
all prayers if you believe; he
never leaves our side since
nothing is true 'just because'
He is the act of going back.

God put us here on Earth for
a purpose - to serve him now
and for always; will forgive you
for your sins if you repent; moves
backward to keep us in check.

He truly loves us, but will never
be a respecter of persons - is
too far above that; has taught
us all we need to know for he is
benevolent - will forever do good.

God's regress seems to be a
return to an earlier stage - passes
back over our lives from when we
were first born; and then reminds us
of this great gift bestowed upon us!

"Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another." ~Helen Keller

Thank you, Lance!
Namaste!
